There is some software companies that make proven Completions System database to provide real-time tracking, visibility, control and management of the completions on individual or combined system/subsystem. The database will support the documented technical integrity of Completions certificates, Acceptance Test Certificates and handover. One I can name is ECOM.
ECOM is a SBM developed software, tailored to fulfill the requirements specified on the corporate Mechanical Completion and Commissioning Standard Specification. SBM will provide all the necessary hardware, software, networks and associated equipment to ensure its functionality.
The database can track the completion of sub-system elements at the ‘Tag Number’ level. A unique identification code for a piece of equipment called ‘Tag Number’ is recorded in the Completions Database. These tagged items include Mechanical Equipment, Piping, Cables, Instruments and Electrical Equipment.
The project Completion Database is populated with data from various design disciplines. These include the following:
- Electric & Instrument Cable lists
- Instrument Index / Loop diagrams
- Electrical Equipment list
- Mechanical Equipment list
- F&G, PAGA, Telephone and LAN Cable lists
- Lighting & small power Cable lists
- Junction Box register
- Process Line List
- PSV Index
- Vendor Equipment Tag list
A manual entry from the site engineer via the Database coordinator can also be added to complement the available data.
The data structure within the database can vary to accommodate individual discipline requirements. For example, in order to control the piping scope during construction and installation, the piping section of the database will only identify reinstatement certificates per subsystem. Separate piping trackers are used to track the fabrication, testing and final completion of the pipework.
The Completions Database will be updated on daily basis and at all times demonstrate status of all aspects of mechanical completions, commissioning, execution, and transition through to Completions phases. It will also cover the inspection and testing requirements for all systems, sub-systems and their components.
Every document in ECOM has a unique ID / barcode. The set of documents are scanned back to ECOM and processed by the scan service. ECOM will automatically update the project database and update progress report. ECOM can split / file automatically every single document and incorporate additional attachments. It will finally generate the next sequence document in case of routine inspection and testing records
ECOM can generate a variety of reports to show progress at the different levels defined within it. This will allow the project team to identify potential manpower or productivity problems and address them accordingly. The reports are excel based and on live data.
Hope that provide some insights!? Anyone from SBM want to add anything further?
