If the line is full of water, from hydrotest, or full of seawater, the line can be pigged to remove the bulk of the water. If further drying is required, dry processed gas, from a gas plant for example, can be flowed, or back-flowed, if possible through the pipeline while monitoring moisture in the exiting gas. Also dry nitrogen may be used flow through the pipeline while monitoring outlet moisture.
