Materials listed below in order of precedence from hardest to easiest to ignite in the oxygen service:

  • Copper, copper alloys, and nickel-copper alloys
  • Stainless steel (300 series)
  • Carbon steel
  • Aluminum

It is recommended that all valve body and trim parts in contact with the flow stream be made of copper, copper alloy, or nickel-copper alloys.
