When large turndowns are required, an external reflux condenser on the top of the TEG regenerator is more suited than internal coils. Similar to the Gas/Glycol EXCH selection criteria, this is also attributed to a relatively fixed TEG circulation rate with varying water boil off rates. An external reflux condenser also allows for the removal of BTEX type components which has boiling points between water and TEG that otherwise would be caught up in the regenerator.
