How long Gas Flaring shall be allowed after a production shutdown on an offshore facility whether a FPSO or a conventional platform?

Gas flaring is typically allowed for up to 8 hours following a production shutdown or after the commissioning of topsides has been completed and during the operation of the topsides. Hoverer, the limit of 8 hours flaring shall not be applied during the initial start up of the topside facilities.
