As of summer 2014,
Day-Rate Up-lift – about 40% for contractors, and up to 50% for major oil company engineer personnel on permanent status. Contractors work 5-6 days a week (try 6-7) (Angolans only work 4-5 days a week). Negotiate to work Angolan Holidays… there are a lot of them and unscheduled at times…
Accommodations – $250/day for meals and lodging, or $125/day for meals, cleaning etc. if company supplied housing.
Transportation – most contractors take company provided busses/cars to/from work. Weekend travel is not much or catches a ride with someone who has a car. If car and driver are provided it usually costs $225/day.
If rotation is desirable, it is negotiable for single status. The 10/2 or 12/3 are common rotations, but work your own deal. Usually company pays one way for travel time and nothing on time off.
