  • Greater thrust than an equivalent area diaphragm actuator due to higher working pressure
  • Greater inherent “stiffness” (can be 10 times stiffer than a diaphragm), enables higher precision positioning
  • Due to smaller working volumes and the higher operating air pressures it operates more rapidly than diaphragm actuator
  • Greater stiffness promotes better position holding under varying valve thrust conditions
  • Vibration damping due to greater stiffness
